The Castle is NOT a playground and parents must not allow their children to run around inside the Estate. Running around is an outdoor activity.

The Castle has a list of items which Parents should NOT allow their children to bring. The following items are not allowed:

3. Glitter

4. Water Guns 

5. Hover Boards

6. Scooters

7. Glue

8. Nerf Guns 

9. Silly String 

10. Paint 

11. Fire Crackers 

12. Darts 

13. Play Dough

14. Any sticky Substance 

15. Slime 

16. Beads

 

 

Any items from the list above found to be in the Castle will result in deposit forfeiture.

MANNERS & BEHAVIOR 

It is crucial that your children behave well and you as the parent must enforce Smithmore Castle rules, respectfully. This means your children can not slam doors, run up and down the stairs and hallways. In addition, we have a no screaming, no tugging or pulling and absolutely no standing on furniture policy. If your child(s) can not behave under these rules then please consider finding a baby-sitter as Smithmore Castle is an iconic one of a kind landmark and must not be subject to reckless behavior.

EATING IN BEDROOM 

Children under 12 are not allowed to eat in their bedrooms unsupervised. Children can eat in the Lounge or Dining Room where proper furniture such as tables and chairs are located. Eating in bed is also prohibited.

SLIPPING AND FALLING

Smithmore Castle is not responsible for any slipping or falling both inside or outside the estate. Slippery floors due to rain, snow or hiking debris should be cautiously observed and avoided.

MOVING FURNITURE 

Guests are NOT allowed to move any furniture without the express written consent of a Castle Staff member.

SLEEPING ARRANGMENT  

Children under 10 years old are NOT allowed to sleep alone in any bedroom. Parents or Guardians must be in the same room.

STAFF ON DUTY 

If your reservation included our Concierge and Chef package(s) no child is allowed in the Kitchen, Backroom and staff area during food service.

We rely on our third party clean up crew to asses all rooms, furniture and space for damage if any. Should any damage be discovered during or after checkout, we will immediately send you an email regarding the forfeiture of your deposit.
